Unruled Paper
I write on unruled paper
My words flow freely across the page
Not a line to control where my poetry go
They know no limit, restriction or cage
My words do not march on a predictable road
A monotonous, tedious drone
They skip and prance along alley ways
For they prefer to be alone
My words they do not follow rules
Like a caged bird to stay within what is known
They strive to explore, exceed expectation
For my bird, uncaged, has flown
I hope you too do learn the joy
To write on paper unruled
For if you believe you must follow the lines
Then you certainly have been fooled
