A New Day
Morning dew collects upon roses
Cradled within soft crimson petals
As morning's tedious sun yawns
And greets the day with an orange glow
A mischievous magpie sits proudly
Upon the stretching branches of the elderflower
Happily embracing the dawn
Before gliding along streams of light
And a pretty chorus resounds sweetly
Sung by morning's choir of sparrows
Carried by the fallen blossom petals
That dance to the merry melody
And all the while I sit and marvel
Drawing back the curtains;
An audience to mornings performance
As I raise my coffee cup an toast the sun
